Hi, my name is Michael Johnson or Benny and I’ve been entertaining
people for most of my life. At my day job I work on The Advanced
Photon Source (APS) at Argonne National Laboratory which is a
national synchrotron-radiation light source research facility funded
by the U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Science, Office of Basic
Energy Sciences... but enough of the small talk... haha.
I’ve spent over 20
years in the entertainment world. One of the theatres I worked was Candlelight Dinner Playhouse, where I spent time on stage
performing, as the soundman, prop master, Assistant Stage Manager,
and spotlight operator. I've worked on such Broadway shows as Phantom,
Five Guys Named Moe, Fiddler on the Roof, Do Black Patent Leather
Shoes Really Reflect Up?, A Chorus Line, Mame, Brigadoon, and The
Will Rogers Follies, just to name a few. Other theatres I have
worked include The
Rialto Square Theatre in Joliet, Lewis University, and Bicentennial
Theatre. I’ve done Radio, Television, and I've also worked on a couple of
movies in the past. Most recently you may have seen me as a
contestant in the ABC television show “Fat March”.
The story of how I became a DJ for Tone Productions is one of
persistence by one of Tone’s other DJ’s (Louie Rarick). For 2 years
he would tell me what a great time he was having performing at
weddings and that I would be a natural for this - and for 2 years I
kept putting him off. That was until the one day that I got to see him in
action and I realized that he was right. I knew that I had to be
a part of the celebrations that were going on.
For 2 years I went
through extensive training as a DJ assistant and for 7 years I
have been a Main DJ. Making your day right is what I do for you.
At
every turn in the night I’ll be there to take care of your needs and
the needs of your guests - every detail from the BIG ones to the
SMALL ones, I’m there to make your day a memorable one.
I’m looking forward to
making your celebration the best day ever!
